Outside Plant Optical Fiber Cables
Their application field is the installation into ducts in underground lines in outside plant systems, as well as in aerial lines. The sheathings can be rodent-resistant steel-armoured or dielectric with fiber-glass yarns. Other options include aramid yarns and aramid tapes, in case of requiring antiballistic protection.
There are special sheathings for environments where an optimum performance against fire is required (halogen-free cables, low smoke and flame retardant).

Their application field is the installation in the inside of buildings and their connections, as well as in local area networks.
